Corrupted file: Unable to find corrupted bibtexkey in Jabref, therefore unable to create bibliography

Hi,

I am new to Latex and I am struggling to create a references section in Latex using Jabref. While processing it says that there is the following error: “…line 138, syntax error.”

Also when I open Jabref the following error message shows up: “1. Line 138: Found corrupted BibTeX key (contains whitespaces)”. How can I find the corrupted bibtex key? I only have 69 entries.

The best way is to open the bib file in an entry editor that shows line numbers. Then go to line 138 and remove the invalid whitespace. You can also just scroll through the file and try to spot the problematic bibtex key. It should be approximately the 20th entry.
