# 5.2 Options - Preferences has become unuseable

I tried to increase the font size, but now Preferences just presents two large squares that do nothing. This happened to me last time I tried out 5.0; nothing I did could bring back a useable app, once I closed it. Everything was huge

Until this it had seemed great - please help!

you can reset your preferences or try the latest development version:  
[https://builds.jabref.org/main/](https://builds.jabref.org/main/)

Remember to make a backup of your library before trying out the new version

Thanks for your reply. Removing with the --purge switch and reinstalling has got me back to where I was before meddling with font size. You have been very kind. Steve
