# Add system specific notifications

Today, every app has notifications on the mobile devices. These notifications are coming to the desltop OS as well. [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34866072/blank-icon-in-windows-10-notification](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34866072/blank-icon-in-windows-10-notification) shows a way to inform the user through nice status updates in Java. We should think about what the user would be interested in from JabRef as notifications. I am unsure what type of notifications JabRef should send out, but sending out some notifications seems to be legit.
