I have been using an old version of Jabref. I just installed a quite new 2.9.x and 3.x. Here is my question. How do I install a patch file. I just downloaded one for fixing google scholar search but I have no idea where it should be put in.

What do you mean by “patch file”? Do you refer to the old patches which are available on sourceforge? I think most of them are already integrated in JabRef.

For a working Google Fetcher you can just install the [latest development version](http://builds.jabref.org/master/). Just download the installer and follow the setup procedure as usually. Better be on the save side and make a backup copy of your bib file before opening it with the dev version.

tobiasdiez,

I downloaded the latest one from the link you sent me. It solved the problem.
