# New Preview (3.7)

Hi
I’m not sure of how to use the new preview.
Is it normal it slow down and hangs Jabref? For article item, it just slow. But it seems to bug on non-article item (at least for one of 2 I tried, I guess style was not defined for “conference”).
Also, you can we test those styles? I don’t know any of those journals, so I have no idea what they look like.
And also, how to create a second personalized preview?
Thanks for solving my other concerns with this new version! 👍

to answer your questions:

For the moment, it takes some time to generate the Preview style. This is already on our agenda to speed the generation of this up.

You can test/get a preview of the citation styles here on the website of the project:

This is the same as before, under Settings → Entry Preview you just add the style “Preview” to the top on the right side and the custom preview will be used.
You can modify the custom HTML-preview in the “Preview”-Window in the settings.

For the speed up of the Citation Style, it is tracked here:

> We are using citeproc-java library in CitationStyleGenerator to generate previews, which itself is basically a wrapper around the javascript library citeproc-js. Switching to V8 engine dramatically improves the time taken to generate these previews. For example, on my laptop, generating preview used to take about 20s for the first preview, and 10s for each subsequent preview; using V8 reduces both by a factor of 10.

One try it out by using the build at [http://builds.jabref.org/fastCSL/](http://builds.jabref.org/fastCSL/). Be aware that it might work only on Windows.
