Web Fetchers: Combine with DOI resolution and Fulltext Download

I am wondering if there is a way to improve the google scholar importer wrt to fetching also the URL / DOI ?
i am struggling as using t always means to go back for the DOI or the actual PDF

Thanks for your suggestion.

Since 3.3 and also with 3.4 we have improved the DOI and Auto-Download abilities of JabRef: You can now try to get the DOI automatically in the “General” tab of a BibTeX entry:

And the matching PDF can often be downloaded automatically by hitting the “Get fulltext” button (this generally works rather good if a DOI is present - without a DOI there might be some wrong downloads).

Are you already aware of this?

However, you are right, this is not directly included in the importers - should this be offered as an option?

THX - i knew about the full text button,
but not the DOI …
still think some of it should be implemented in the Google import as an option…

I think we’ll consider this - especially, if we can harden the DOI lookup, as currently there are still some wrong DOI resolutions.

As this is not only relevant for the Google Scholar fetcher, but for all other fetchers, too, I’ll rename your topic to a more general one.
