Yes,
Preferences → Network → uncheck “Listen for remote operation”
This allows you to open multiple instances of JabRef
which Version are you using? In older versions it was under general
JabRef 5.13–2024-04-01–6bdcf63
Windows 10 10.0 amd64
Java 21.0.2
JavaFX 22+30
But the Check for updates
button is not available:
I think this was a bug at some point. The latest version is 5.15
You can get it from https://downloads.jabref.org
Thank you very much!
Sorry, I have downloaded the latest version but nothing has changed.
JabRef 5.15--2024-07-10--1eb3493
Windows 10 10.0 amd64
Java 21.0.2
JavaFX 22.0.1+7
PS: I’m using a portable version.
Can you eplain a bit more?
You found the checkbox? Did you restart JabRef afterwards?
You can start JabRef twice now
I can’t find the Remote operation
checkbox. I have restart it many times. Do I have to restart the system?
My attempt: On trying with the checkbox unchecked, I am successfully able to open another JabRef instance and open a new .bib file there.
Oh! Cool! Thank you very much!
