Is there a way in JabRef to visualize the API call being made by a fetcher? The IEEEXplore one couldn’t find some references when I search for them using their verbatim title so I would like to investigate the issue.

Hi,
unfortunately there is no such an option. You would need to debug JabRef’s code. However, the recent development versions will show the HTTP Status Code in case of errors
