Is the database compatible with a virtual or cloud based server?

Hi,

JabRef uses the bibtex format and stores/writes directly to the bib file. In contrast to other tools it does not use a database internally.
However, it is possible to use a shared database e.g. mysql or postgressql http://help.jabref.org/en/SQLDatabase
Other ideas are to use git/SVN or other version control: http://help.jabref.org/en/SharedBibFile
