how can i sort groups alphabeticaly? there is “sort subgroups a-z” option already but i can’t find any for main groups under “all entries”!
JabRef 5.8:
Before:
See “s” is after “z”
Right-click on “All entries”. Then select “Sort subgroups A-Z”
After:
See “s” is before “z”
Can you describe how you tried to sort the groups?

i am using:
JabRef 5.8–2022-12-18–b7fae4b
Windows 10 10.0 amd64
Java 18.0.2.1
JavaFX 19+11
and there is no context menu on “All entries” right-click.

Indeed, you are right and I think this is a problem that was introduced in Group context menu presents relevant options depending on number of subgroups by Gpax971 · Pull Request #9286 · JabRef/jabref · GitHub

@amirgaran The problem is now fixed in the latest development version index - powered by h5ai v0.29.0 (https://larsjung.de/h5ai/) (6.0)
Remember to make a backup of your library before trying out the new version
