It seems that any websearch on ieeexplore yields a message "you have entered an invalid search ‘search string’"
I have tested this with version 3.8.1, 3.8.2 and 4 beta. I can still add a bib entry using the doi link for any paper on ieeexplore but cannot search.

Yes, there was a problem caused by changes on the side of IEEE. We fixed it yesterday and the fix is already included in the latest Dev builds available at https://builds.jabref.org/master (Caution: this is an unstable Version please backup your data!)
