Hi everyone,
My name is Santosh Krishna, and I’m excited to introduce myself to the JabRef community!
I’m a developer with strong experience in Java and full-stack development, and I’m particularly interested in JVM internals, performance optimization, and modern toolchains. Recently, I’ve been exploring GraalVM and native image compilation, which led me to the “JabRef Components as Native Images” project.
I’m planning to apply for this project and would love to contribute to compiling JabRef’s CLI and GUI tools into native images for faster startup and improved performance. The phased approach (JabKit CLI → JabRef GUI → JabLS → JabSrv) looks especially interesting and aligns well with my interests in system design and tooling.
I’m eager to get started, understand the codebase, and contribute meaningfully. I’d appreciate any guidance on where to begin, recommended issues to pick up, or resources to better understand the project structure.
Looking forward to collaborating with the community!
@koppor I’d be grateful for any suggestions or pointers as I get started.
Thanks!
Santosh Krishna
