Linked files format in raw file

Hello,

I am currently using the Jabref feature for linked files to an entry. However, when I open the .bib file, my “file” field lists the files like :FILENAME.pdf:PDF. Is there any way to remove the “:” at the beginning and “:PDF” at the end. Is there a setting in Jabref I can change?

Hi,

May I ask why you need to remove this? The file field is a JabRef-specific field and is used for JabRef to identify linked files and therefore cannot be changed.
The general format is: <Description>:Filename:<Filetype>
