Entering new entries manually backwards

I’m a relative new user to JabRef, and so far I find it a breeze to use. However, when entering new entries whenever I press the space bar the cursor jumps to the first character and insert any new words in front of the last one. So if I wanted to write:

“A general, abstract model of incremental dialogue processing”

I end up with:
“processing dialogue incremental of model abstract general A”

Is this expected behavior, or is there something wrong with my installation?
