From time to time I open dozens of files at the same time. I would like to “organize” them on my desktop (linux user) by opening it with different pdf readers. Therefore it would be a great feature to have kind of “Open with …” menu button to open it with any program.

I am not sure if this is what you want, but in JabRef’s options under External Programs .> Manage external files types you can edit the entry for PDF and assign a custom PDF reader
