Unable to run JabRef v5.4 via exe file, but I can run via .bat file

Hi,

I have installed JabRef v5.4 and when I run it via the exe file I get the following error “Failed to launch JVM”.

However, if I run it via the .bat file in C:\Program Files\JabRef\runtime\bin it works.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Meanwhile, Jabref 5.5 is out. I don’t know either, but maybe a little bit more information could help in finding the cause.

  1. Could you post the info aobut your Jabref version that you can find under Help>About Jabref?
  2. Which operating system is this exactly?

Also, have you tried another version of Jabref? E.g. the portable version?
