This is a call for betatesting.
A new release of JabRef is estimated to drop Friday 2023-01-06.
The decision to release JabRef 5.9 so soon after JabRef 5.8, was taken, because some regressions have been found (and fixed) that seemed important enough to warrant an early release.
In particular
- deb v. 5.8 is not installable on Debian · Issue #9472 · JabRef/jabref · GitHub
- Error in 5.8 on bibtex library with doubled braces in booktitle (@InCollection) · Issue #9475 · JabRef/jabref · GitHub
- Selecting an entry InProceedings causes an uncaught exception · Issue #9503 · JabRef/jabref · GitHub
Even though the last release has been very recent, there have already been other changes, fixes and additions, which might warrant an upgrade. Check out the pre-release changelog.
