Reference formatting fails on Mac OS with version Jabref 5.6 but it works with v 5.4

I am running Libreoffice 7.3.3.2 on a MacBook Air (M1, 2020) Monterey 12.4.
If I install the latest Jabref (5.6) and try to format references I get an error message that erroneously says that there are no matching bib keys in my library.
As a workaround I tried installing an older Jabref version (5.4) instead and that all runs smoothly.

There has been a rewrite of the OpenOffice/LibreOffice integration. For example, references are now sorted based on citation key. This has been the first report that there are problems with backwards compatibility.

Could you please post the full error message in between the following? (That will allow the error message to be formated well)

Also, no matching keys sounds as if the citationkey in your library and the key in your document differ.
