Unabbreviation doesn't work

Hello, JabRef users and developers!)

I with a problem: after applying the abbreviations for journal titles in the application, I cannot execute unnabbreviation procedure:

  1. click 1 time on toggle button - get abrriviation
  2. click 2 times on toggle button - get more abrriviation
  3. click ‘Unabbreviate Journals names’ tab - get this message :1

Hi, could you give an example of a journal that can be abbreviated twice?

(if I understand you correctly, the issue seem to come from a journal being abbreviated two times)

I have the same problem, for example with “Journal of Climate”. This is first abbreviated to “J. Climate”, and then to “J Climate”. When I then try to get the unabbreviated name again, I get the same error as above.

PS: There is no problem from “J. Climate” back to “Journal of Climate”. My question is therefore: The little button next to the journal name is supposed to cycle through the 3 versions?

I am not sure what should happen. But as is, the behaviour doesn’t match the tooltip text and unabbreviating from the menu should work.

If you feel up to it, I think creating an issue at https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues will be the quickest way of resolving it.
