5.1 linux: lost some keyboard controls

I’m running today’s generic linux build (2020-05-26). When editing data entry for a new article I found that ctrl-d no longer deletes the character to the right of the cursor; I have to use the Del key.

Please re-install these emacs-like keyboard chords.

TIA,

Rich

First, I found in Preferences the spinbox that allows me to increase the font size to a readable 12pts rather than the default 9pts. Older eyeballs with many kilometers on them need a larger font.

Second, in the preferences, key bindings, file list I don’t see a way to add the keyboard chords I used before: ctrl-a Move cursor to head of line, ctrl-e Move cursor to end of line, ctrl-f Move cursor to the right one character, ctrl-b Move cursor to the left one character, ctrl-d Delete character to right of cursor. Is there a way for me to add these or will you devs make them available? Those of us who are touch-typists and keep our hands on the keyboard thank you in advance.

Hi,

seems like you are not the only one missing Emacs keybdindings:

and there is a draft PR which still needs some changes to be ready.

Christoph,

They used to be available. I find them most useful when I’ve copied the
abstract to that tab and reformat it to better fill the available space.

and there is a draft PR which still needs some changes to be ready.

I’ll look at both of these.

Thanks very much,
