Organize references in a tree with categories and/or tags or something like that

I watched a lot of JabRef videos but couldn’t get an answer about that.

Is there a way to organize the references with “categories” or “tags” and show them in a tree or something like that. I know things like that from Zotero and Citavi.

Even if I would seperate my reference archiv in multiple ones there would be JabRef files with some 1000 references. Just displaying them in a simple list is not a good way.

Yes, there is. In JabRef, this is called groups.Via the menu: Groups → Toogle groups interface, you get a sidebar where you can create a tree of categories and you can assign entries to nodes in that tree.
