Pubmed, what is the sorting?

Hi,
I’m wondering how the pubmed/medline fetcher works?
I typed my favorite search “hepatic encephalopathy”. I got some articles from 2013, 2014, 2015 and only 7 in 2016. However, on web version, it have 442 articles in 2016 and 3 in 2017.
I’m expecting Jabref fetches results as Pubmed and gave first the most recent ones. What is the sorting of the fetcher if it’s not by date?

I think it is “relevance” - at least this seems to be one parameter of the call which is performed in the background :wink:
